Welcome to The By-Pass Blog

This blog is my personal experience through gastric bypass surgery. As I prepared for the surgery I had so many questions that I wanted answered. I loved hearing about other peoples experineces but found they often forgot many of the details. I started this for myself to one day look back on. If you read it an enjoy it, I'd love to hear from you. If you are considering having bypass surgery, I completely encourage you to do it.

Ten Weeks and 55 pounds

Today is June 11th and it is my 17th anniversary. It has been 10 weeks since surgery and I am down 55 pounds. I wore size 24 before surgery and as of today I am wearing a 16-18. I even have one skirt that is a 14 that fits. I weigh what I weighed when I delivered my first baby.

I have been having some problems with my left hip. It aches inside the joint. I wonder if its everything going back into place and tightening up, although its not a sore muscle ache. Its more like a pinched nerve ache.

I have started loosing hair. Lots of hair. It reminds me of when my mom had chemo and she lost her hair. Every time I run my fingers through my hair I pull out between 5 to 10 strands. It may not sound like much, but several times a day it starts to add up! I am taking Biotin to off set that but it will still take a couple months for it to grow back.

I have started to break out on my forehead. Like a teenager! I'm thinking its the hormone change??? It's not bad, but enough that I notice it.
