Welcome to The By-Pass Blog

This blog is my personal experience through gastric bypass surgery. As I prepared for the surgery I had so many questions that I wanted answered. I loved hearing about other peoples experineces but found they often forgot many of the details. I started this for myself to one day look back on. If you read it an enjoy it, I'd love to hear from you. If you are considering having bypass surgery, I completely encourage you to do it.

Six Month Pictures

I have had a request for more pictures, so here they are. I have my six month check-up in two days and Im interested to see what the doctors scale says. I had routine blood work done last week and am low on iron, so now I'm taking an iron pill at night. My hair doesn't seem to be falling out as much, so thats a huge relief!

I find it interesting that, even though I've lost 90 pounds and my BMI has gone from 44% to 32%, and I currently weigh right about 200, I am still considered morbidly obese. I was feeling so good about my accomplishment thus far and then saw the pix of my back fat and got grossed out all over again. I realized that I still have about 50 pounds to go, hopefully most of that 50 is in back fat!! I have gotten too comfortable with eating and will have a bite of this or a bite of that, and that has to stop. I dont know why I am self destructive like that. I've let sugar creep back into what I eat and I know that has lots to do with why my weight loss has slowed so much. So...back to the salads, more protein drinks and WATER I go. Hopefully my next pix will have no back fat and firm, toned arms :0)
