Today was my one week check- up appointment. Its actually been 10 days since surgery, but whose counting? I am down 18 pounds and can now eat soft foods. This list includes soft cheeses (but not cream cheese), plain yogurt, baked tuna or salmon, applesauce, vegetarian refried beans, and eggs. Needless to say I am thrilled! Tonight for dinner I had .5 ounce of potato and 1.5 ounces of salmon. YUMMY!!! For the next four weeks I will eat off this menu two ounces at a time four or more times a day. Plus I still have to get in my protein shake and water and vitamins. Sounds crazy, but I don't ever feel hungry. I do feel like I'm eating or drinking all the time!
I can now start exercising again. Lite stuff like the stationary bike or treadmill. I have heard that exercising through the weightloss will help with the sagging skin. We'll see.
Before surgery several people warned me about addictive behaviors. Eating is an addictive behavior and after some people have surgery they turn their addiction from food to other things. Sometimes alcohol or drugs. I have decided to unleash my addictive behaviors on cleaning my house and exercise. In the past couple days I have recruited my kids and we have cleaned out my walk-in closet and kitchen pantry. Two areas down, the rest of the house to go!!
